For the time being I will keep a journal as I build this little dream.

The dream is that one day this curated directory will take root and help support the craftsmakers who have dedicated their lives to skills that take years and decades to perfect. I hope that this directory will play a role in connecting clients with these dedicated crafts people.

A few weeks ago I finally chose the domain name for this directory, then I froze, I couldn’t find a design template (within my means) that worked well enough to get started, I started overthinking and I got decision paralisis, my vision of perfect got in the way of taking the first steps.

So today I am launching this page – before it is even built & populated. That is probably not the best idea with regards to Google indexing but I needed to put some fire under this project to get it out of being stuck in the world of daydreams.

There are many decisions to make about how this can become a business for me, too. I decided against waiting until I have it all perfectly mapped out and decided. I think I will list the first selection of artisans, craftspeople, makers and fabricators and then take it from there.

In the future there will be a fee to help cover the cost of creating, maintaining, hosting, promoting this site because it is work; I am picturing a shop page and perhaps an agent function but those are ideas for later. First I need to build this directory into existence.

Today I placed the first placeholder images to get a better idea what the directory might look like once the listings and pages are built out more.
